Where Hosanna Road stands today

Welcome to The Road So Far, our running diary of the progress on Hosanna Road™. We’ll post a few times a week, newest first, so you can follow the game from here to release. Next up: the glitches and bugs we’re working through. For the first entry, here is where things stand today.

The journey, chapter by chapter

The journey runs through 32 chapters that follow Jesus’ life in order, from the angel’s visit to Mary to the Ascension, built for iPhone and iPad. Six parables are tucked along the way: the Good Samaritan, the Sower, the Hidden Treasure, the Lost Sheep, the Lost Coin and the Lost Son. Every chapter has its own hands-on moments, and you can swipe through the chapter picker to find your place.

Scripture you can read and hear

The words come from the World English Bible, shown with the speaker’s name and the reference, and checked against the Gospels scene by scene. We’ve been going back through every chapter to make sure the picture on screen matches the verse that is being read.

A world to explore

You can walk into houses and look around inside, open a full map of places, activities and lookout discoveries, and meet crowds sized the way the Gospels describe them. Next to the story there are small activities, like fishing, with clearer touch instructions. They’re gentle and optional, and a miss never ends the story.

My Book, photo mode and progress saving

My Book collects the people, places and discoveries you find, and reads its scrolls aloud. Photo mode lets you pose, frame a shot with touch, then save it to Photos or share it. Closer camera views make conversations easier to follow, and a “Progress saved” message appears at checkpoints.

What’s next

More repairs and polish come first (see our latest post on the bugs we’re chasing), then testing with a small group before release. Test builds will have a bug button so anyone who spots a problem can tell us right away. Our anticipated public release is December 2026. To get an email about game updates, the release and beta testing invites, join the list on the home page, or follow @hosannaroad on Instagram.
